2.4 Life Gaming is the data controller of the personal data used for the following activities:
- Creating a user profile
- Information about your use of the App
- Communication between LifeSign and user
3. PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS
3.2 User profile
3.2.1 When you create a user profile in the App, Life Gaming requires you to register a range of information about you as a person.
3.2.2 The data required to create a user profile are an email address or a first and last name and a password. In addition, you are required to provide your telephone number so that you can send and receive messages and use the SOS button as well as the country code, zip code and time zone for Life Gaming to manage your messages to and from national and international contacts and friends.
3.2.3 If you create a user profile using your email address, you will receive an email from Life Gaming with a link that you must click to verify the creation. You can use the link up to 48 hours after receipt, as the link will be deleted after 48 hours. Your user profile is only created after you verify the profile by clicking the link.
3.2.4 If you create a user profile using your Facebook login information, Life Gaming will have access to the email address you have registered with on Facebook. You can always change our access to this information under ‘Settings’ in the App.
3.2.5 The collection of this personal data is necessary to create a profile in the App and to fulfil the agreement between you and Life Gaming on your use of our Services, including sending and receiving messages from friends and contacts. This is based on point (b) of Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation. If you do not wish to provide this data to Life Gaming, you cannot create a user profile.
3.3 Information about your use of the App
3.3.1 When you use the App’s functionalities, Life Gaming collects information about your use of the App.
3.3.2 The information that Life Gaming collects about you is information about your friend requests and contacts, your use of the SOS button when you play the LifeSign Poke-Game, when you send messages and information about your purchases in the Shop.
3.3.4 The collection of this personal information is necessary in order to fulfill the agreement entered into between you and Life Gaming regarding your use of our Services. This is done on the basis of (b) of Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
3.4 Communication between LifeSign and user
3.4.1 Life Gaming also uses your email address to send you essential messages and reminders, for instance, information about important technical or legal matters (hereinafter referred to as “Service notifications”).
3.4.2 The collection of this personal data is necessary to fulfil the agreement between you and Life Gaming on your use of our Services. This is based on point (b) of Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
3.5.1 Life Gaming uses your email address to send you newsletters, for instance, about new features and other material related to LifeSign. This is also done via messages in the App or via push notifications provided that you have given your consent to this.
3.5.2 The collection of this personal data is based on a legitimate interest in being able to send you marketing material, cf. point (f) of Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
4. COMMUNICATION BETWEEN USERS
4.1 As a user of our Services, you are the data controller when you send and receive personal data about yourself and others in messages via the LifeSign App. Life Gaming only delivers our Services in this regard.
4.2 When sending messages through the LifeSign App, you should, as far as possible, refrain from sending text containing specific categories of personal data (“sensitive personal data”) about yourself or others.
4.3 Sensitive personal data are data relating to:
- racial or ethnic origin
- political, religious, or philosophical beliefs or trade union membership
- processing of genetic data, biometric data to identify a natural person
- health information or
- information about a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation
4.4 If you send sensitive personal data or other personal data about people other than yourself in your messages via the LifeSign App, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the consent or other legal basis for doing so.
5. RECIPIENTS/DISCLOSURE OF DATA
5.1 The personal data held by Life Gaming will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent unless Life Gaming is obliged to disclose the data under the law, or for Life Gaming to defend itself against or assert legal action.
5.2 You can allow other LifeSign users to view some of your data, including only your name and country, in LifeSign. For example, this may be family or friends to whom you have sent a friend request. If you choose to do so, you also agree that, in order to fulfil this agreement with you, Life Gaming may disclose your data to that person. You can always change this in the App.
6. RETENTION PERIOD
6.1 Life Gaming will store your personal data until you delete your Life Sign user profile.
6.2 When your user profile is deleted, it will be deleted immediately or within 48 hours of the deletion request being received.
6.3 We delete your instant messages 30 days after the message is sent.
6.4 When your user profile is deleted, all data recorded on your user profile in LifeSign is deleted or anonymised and cannot be restored.
7. YOUR PERSONAL DATA RIGHTS
7.1 At all times, you have the right to know what personal data Life Gaming processes about you, for what purpose, where Life Gaming received your data from, and who receives your data.
7.2 As a registered user at Life Gaming, you have access to a feature in your user profile, the “Get Data” button, where you can retrieve the data that Life Gaming processes about you. However, this button does not replace your right to request access as well.
7.3 At all times, you have the right to correct erroneous or misleading personal data that Life Gaming may process about you. You can correct personal data through your profile, such as your username, email address, etc.
7.4 In a number of cases, you have the right to request the deletion of any data that Life Gaming may process about you. If you no longer wish to use the LifeSign App, you can delete your profile at any time using the App. All data registered under your profile will then be deleted or anonymised and cannot be restored.
7.5 You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to Life Gaming, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, where the processing is based on an agreement or your consent.
7.6 You have the right in a number of cases to object to Life Gaming’s processing of your data due to your particular circumstances.
7.7 You always have the right to object to Life Gaming’s possible use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. Life Gaming will then cease such use.
8.1 If you wish to complain about the processing of your personal data, we would very much like to hear from you. Life Gaming’s contact information can be found in section 1.2.

10.1 This Personal Data Policy has last been updated in October 2020 and replaces all previously applicable policies.
